RYAN CHRISTIE could be set to make a sensational return to face Rangers this weekend, according to The Daily Record. The Record are reporting that Celtic and Arsenal are close to convincing Lothian health board to release the two players from their isolation order after numerous tests have come back negative, confirming they are virus free.
Mikel Arteta admitted that he was hopeful of having Tierney for the Gunners’ game versus Manchester City. Which would mean that if Tierney is given the all clear on Friday, there is no reason why the same would not apply to Christie.
Three players that are definitely out are Nir Bitton, Hatem Abd Elhamed and crocked James Forrest. The Israeli duo contracted the virus whilst on international duty; however Christie and Edouard could be set to make the squad for Saturday with the Frenchman due back at Lennoxtown today.
Christie was asked to isolate 11 days ago, meaning he has just three days to go (two after Saturday) before he will be free. It will be interesting to see whether the health authorities give the players the all clear as it sets a potentially dangerous precedent.
Although it would be a potentially enormous boost for Celtic to have Edouard and Christie back for such a big game, if not the biggest, of the season so far.
