Celtic are working on a deal to bring Moritz Jenz to the club on a loan deal with an option to buy. L’Equipe reported initially that a deal was close but The Sun claim it will be a temporary switch initially. Ange Postecoglou is looking to add depth and quality to his defence and Jenz would fit the bill.

Celtic were linked with Jenz last summer but the player joined Lorient. After a season in Ligue 1, Jenz made 18 appearances as his team battled relegation. The player will be wanting first team football and the opportunity to compete for trophies and play in Europe will be a huge draw for the player.

Jenz currently has four years remaining on his deal and it appears that Celtic are being careful in this deal, learning the lesson from Albian Ajeti deal perhaps.

The model has been successfully recently with deals being struck for Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers to bring them to Paradise initially on loan. The pair impressed and they were secured on long-term deals after helping Ange’s team secure the League and League Cup.

Aaron Mooy looks set to become the fifth signing of the summer as the 31-year-old bolsters the midfield ranks. The club will be hoping to get all business done ahead of the new season kicking off against Aberdeen on the 31st of July.
