Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Bundesliga 2 attacking midfielder Kanji Okunuki. Brendan Rodgers has already discussed the fact that there needs to be more quality added to the squad.

According to Benjamin Heckner on Twitter/X, Celtic have sent scouts to watch the Japanese midfielder, who plays for Bundesliga 2 outfit Nuremberg.

The German-to-English translation is as follows:

“News #Okunuki: according to Sky information, #Celtic Glasgow is interested in Kanji Okunuki from 1. FC #Nuremberg. The Scots have scouted the Japanese intensively in recent weeks. But there is no concrete offer yet.”

Since arriving from Omiya Ardija, Okunuki has made 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and assisting twice. The player can play on the right and through the middle but the left wing is predominately where he has started for Nuremberg.

The Celtic manager has already said that he will be looking at getting business done with quality additions and some players being moved on, either on loan or permanently.
