Celtic is a club open to all. Intolerance has no place in Paradise

The Celtic FC Foundation and Celtic FC recently announced their participation in the Glasgow 2024 Pride Parade a week on Saturday, this for the second successive year.

It’s a great move by the Foundation and the club as we are as we like to proclaim ‘a club open to all’ and rightly so. It’s in our DNA to help those in the world who are shunned because of their colour creed, religion or sexuality.

In this case we are showing our support to the LGBT community who are unfairly targeted by a moronic element of society, but also sadly and unfortunately a very small percentage of those morons exist amongst our own support.

You only had to have a scroll through the replies on X to the Celtic FC Foundation post about their participation in the event to see these sad, narrow minded individuals claim to be supporters of our football club. It’s shameful to know some of our fellow Celtic supporters think this way.

Hating someone because of their sexuality or gender is sheer bigotry, and nothing less.

Something our club has fought against since the day we were established. We are all human beings regardless of our colour, religion, or sexual orientation.

Our club is proudly open to all, apart from these sad individuals who discriminate against the most persecuted in society. These attitudes should have no place at our football club and hopefully there will be greater acceptance and tolerance going forward.

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. Kid yourself as much as you want but this filth has no place in football particularly at a club that was formed via the Catholic faith

      • Not for the better you must admit, and the fracturing of the family unit- of all families of all or no faiths- has been chipped away at by decreasing sexually moral standards- irrespective whether gay people make good parents…pity.

    • Ah, yeah, the Catholic faith. Glad it hasn’t had any connections to subversive, illegal, immoral and depraved sexual practices. Might have felt a bit hypocritical condemning others if the ol’ archbishops and priests hadn’t been so virtuous down the years…

    • But Celtic, despite being formed by a Catholic priest- was for the benefit of EVERYONE, not just some. Poverty knows no language, race, or class. That’s the difference between us and the Orcs- they hate everyone who isn’t like them- white Anglo Saxon protestants- but Celtic have included everyone in their team to our greater glory and benefit, catholic or otherwise. We are NOT a catholic club, we are a club for everyone. We just don’t have to appeal to everyone to get us on side- just be Celtic.

  2. Glasgow Celtic shouldn’t be anywhere near this- you don’t need to know someone’s preferences- either sexual or political- to support Celtic- just support the club, we’ll take you as you are. By making a show of group of people inclusive they are being made exclusive in the treatment to them, which isolates everyone else. Just support the club- and don’t be Huns.
