The Celtic FC Foundation and Celtic FC recently announced their participation in the Glasgow 2024 Pride Parade a week on Saturday, this for the second successive year.

It’s a great move by the Foundation and the club as we are as we like to proclaim ‘a club open to all’ and rightly so. It’s in our DNA to help those in the world who are shunned because of their colour creed, religion or sexuality.

In this case we are showing our support to the LGBT community who are unfairly targeted by a moronic element of society, but also sadly and unfortunately a very small percentage of those morons exist amongst our own support.

You only had to have a scroll through the replies on X to the Celtic FC Foundation post about their participation in the event to see these sad, narrow minded individuals claim to be supporters of our football club. It’s shameful to know some of our fellow Celtic supporters think this way.

Hating someone because of their sexuality or gender is sheer bigotry, and nothing less.

Something our club has fought against since the day we were established. We are all human beings regardless of our colour, religion, or sexual orientation.

Our club is proudly open to all, apart from these sad individuals who discriminate against the most persecuted in society. These attitudes should have no place at our football club and hopefully there will be greater acceptance and tolerance going forward.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
