Celtic legend Neil Lennon is at the centre of a bizarre club statement from Rapid Bucharest. The club got behind their manager after rumours circulated about the status of the Irishman after failing to win any of his first three games.
Lennon was seen as being a coup signing by the Romanian side given his status as a manager and player from Celtic but it appears that he will have to work hard to win over the doubters in the role.
Tough, tough time for Neil Lennon at Rapid.
The manager is accused of having urinated on the training pitch (!!!) during a session this week. Club firmly denies info, but pressure is mounting considering displays and results haven't gone his way.

“The FC Rapid club publicly disapproves of all the unproven attacks that club members are subjected to on a daily basis.
“At the moment, the results are not helping us, but that doesn’t mean we are any less of a strong and determined team to achieve.
“We are a team that chose to change strategy, to evolve and do things right on all levels, both sporting and administrative. And those mentioned above can only invent defamatory articles. Which says a lot about them, not about the strength of the club, whose only goal is to make their supporters happy.
“We would like to clarify two topics that have appeared in the press, which have no basis in fact.
“Neil Lennon is a professional with a track record that should make any speedster fan proud. His mentality brought to the club an immense desire for evolution.
“There was never at any time when he was anything but professional. Thus, we debunk the rumours that describe him and his staff acting inappropriately during training.”
Lennon won ten titles with Celtic, eight Scottish Cups and three league cups in two spells as manager and as a player. An excellent player in his day, Lenny will be keen to bring his experiences in Scotland, England and Cyprus to Romania and help Rapid towards silverware next season.
