Celtic legend says he would be interested in Hibs vacancy

Celtic legend Neil Lennon has said that he is open to returning to Hibernian as manager. The Irishman enjoyed a successful spell with the Edinburgh club prior to his second spell with Celtic.

Speaking to PLZ Soccer, Lennon has stated that he would be open to the move.

Lee Johnson was relieved of his post after a winless start to the league and a humbling to Aston Villa in the Europa Conference League Play-Off.

Lennon is one of the favourites for the job and his record as a manager would suggest that he would be a success at Easter Road, though Lennon would likely need assurances regarding transfers and staff to entertain a return.

In Lennon’s first job following his departure from Celtic with Omonia Nicosia, Lennon won the Cyprus Cup as well as taking them to the Europa League. Olympiacos are desperate for success, currently sitting in 3rd place, and Lennon’s impressive trophy-haul show that he could be the man to help add to their trophy cabinet.

Lennon won ten titles with Celtic, eight Scottish Cups and three league cups in two spells as manager and as a player. He will always be a Celtic legend but it was clear that his time as manager was up. Lennon will be recognised for all that he has done for the club.
