Celtic legend Scott Brown is being touted for a role as part of the interim team at Aberdeen following the decision to sack Stephen Glass as manager. Glass managed to convince Brown to move from Glasgow’s East End to the North East in the summer with a view to taking on a player-coach role. Although after a Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Motherwell yesterday, Glass was shown the door.
As reported by The Daily Record, Brown is wanted to be part of an interim management team whilst Dave Cormack searches for his third manager in a year. Broony will be joined by Neil Simpson and his former Celtic midfield colleague Barry Robson is expected to makeup the new-look management staff.

After 22 trophies with Celtic, Brown left Celtic to reunite with his former Hibernian teammate Glass at Aberdeen. The deal clearly offered him some security as it is a two-year deal that encapsulates both playing and coaching, which for the 36-year-old is highly desirable. You would not rule out seeing the player return to Celtic in a managerial capacity at some point in the next few years. However, with Glass leaving, Brown will be prompted into potentially making a decision on his own future.
It has been a totally bizarre experience seeing Brown pulling on another kit but he made a decision to prolong his playing career whilst Celtic opted to undergo an overhaul of the footballing department. Celtic have moved on from Brown under Ange Postecoglou with Callum McGregor becoming the captain.
You wouldn’t rule out Brown moving away from Pittodrie now that his friend Glass has moved on. However, he is also someone that has a wealth of experience and the Dons will need that as they enter another period of transition.
