Celtic are reportedly considering a sensational move for Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet. The 25-year-old has emerged as an alternative to South Korean forward Cho Gue-sung, who the club appeared to have moved on from.
According to The Sun, Nisbet is now on Celtic’s radar as the Scottish Champions look to replace Giorgos Giakoumakis. The Scotland Internationalist is a Celtic supporter and would certainly be keen on a move to Glasgow’s East End. The report also goes on to say that Celtic’s recruitment team are working to ascertain whether Nisbet can cope with the demands of Ange’s team.
The move is also something that Hibs could potentially consider given that he has eighteen months remaining on his deal. The Edinburgh club are now looking to obtain a fee for Ryan Porteous which is much less than they would have received had a move been sanctioned in the summer.
Nisbet has scored seven goals in six games for Hibs, his impressive form has been a bright spark in an otherwise poor period for the Easter Road club. Giakoumakis scored in the win against Kilmarnock. It may transpire to be his last goal for the club as he edges closer to a Celtic exit.
