Celtic linked with CCV’s international teammate, Auston Trusty

Celtic linked with CCV’s international team mate and this deal ticks many boxes with Mikey Johnston possibly heading in the other direction…

Auston Trusty

The rumour mill is in full flow regarding transfers and today we have been linked with an international teammate of Cameron Carter-Vickers.

That man is Auston Trusty who plays for Sheffield United. Trusty stands at 6ft 3 inches tall and is not surprisingly strong and athletic a bit like CCV. He’s also left footed which is what we are looking for to fully complement CCV.

Trusty is 26 and has a vast of experience of playing in the MLS and was also once on the books of Arsenal. He had a loan spell at Birmingham City before joining Sheffield United whom he played for in the EPL last season.

Reports, including from Anthony Joseph at Sky Sports,  are suggesting that Celtic could lure Trusty to Scotland with Mikey Johnston heading the opposite way as part of any proposed deal. If true it’s a move that should be met with some optimism in my opinion. A player in his mid twenties with plenty of experience and all the attributes we need in a centre back.

We would also be getting to move on a player in Mikey Johnston who doesn’t seem to have a future at the club, which would kill the preverbal two birds with one stone. One to look out for, hopefully some truth in it.

Meanwhile some Celtic fans are busy tracking a private flight from LA to Scotland, in the expectation that there is an incoming Celtic signing on board. That tells us that we are getting close to the window closing and all the crazy stuff happening.
