Celtic make £3.5m bid for highly-rated winger as issue emerges for Podence

Celtic have made a £3.5m bid for Aris Thessaloniki winger Luis Palma. The 23-year-old is being eyed by the Scottish Champions as a potential replacement for Jota, who left to join Al-Ittihad in a £25m deal earlier this summer.

According to Stephen McGowan at The Daily Mail, Celtic are keen to sign Palma as they look to add quality to their ranks ahead of the UEFA Champions League Group Stages.

The Honduran winger has impressed during his time in Greece, scoring 17 goals and assisting 11 times, attracting interest from England, Belgium and Scotland.

Celtic have, meanwhile, found that wages have been a difficulty in their pursuit of Daniel Podence and Ryan Fraser. The Premier League duo have been told to find new clubs by Wolves and Newcastle respectively and had been linked with Celtic. However, McGowan reports that their weekly pay packets have proven to be a difficulty for the Scottish Champions and now, they appear to be looking at Palma.

Brendan Rodgers said that he wanted the club to bring quality in and if he can add a few players before the end of the window then the team will be in a better state for the trip to Ibrox and the defence of the Premiership crown.

  1. Might be good, but i honestly dinnae understand why we try tae sign guys that have tae settle intae a new country, language, weather etc etc when we hae players like Boyle & Duk right here awready .. & would cost the same or cheaper!

  2. 😂😂😂 and to think we were laughing at the buns’ quality of signings. We’re buying for even less. It’s not out with the realms of possibility the buns lay their hands on CL cash….and you can bet your life they will spend it.
