Celtic make formal bid to sign £8m-rated Polish midfielder

Celtic have made a formal bid to sign LAFC star Mateusz Bogusz. The Scottish Champions are keen to get their business done as soon as possible after a fairly sluggish window in terms of arrivals.

According to Anthony Joseph, the Sky Sports reporter, Celtic have made an offer for the £8m-rated star, who has been the subject of talks between the sides.

Bogusz was on the losing side of the MLS Leagues Cup Final despite assisting Olivier Giroud. However, Columbus Crew scored twice in injury time to win 3-1. LAFC were keen to retain the Polish midfielder until after the game, meaning that Celtic can now make the move for the versatile midfielder.

Celtic have also been in negotiations to sign Arne Engels from Augsburg with the Belgian midfielder keen on making the switch to Glasgow. The difficulty Celtic have is that teams are aware of the £30m fee that the club received for Matt O’Riley from Brighton. However, it is a necessary evil at this stage as the manager stated, the club need to continue to improve.
