Celtic make Reo Hatate stance clear after £10m bid

Celtic have issued a firm stance on Reo Hatate after a French side made a £10m move for the Japanese star. Hatate has attracted interest from Russia and England this summer but the Scottish Champions will not entertain selling the player.

The Daily Mail’s Stephen McGowan reported on the offer from the Ligue 1 outfit for the 26-year-old while revealing how Brendan Rodgers’ side dealt with the offer.

Hatate will not be allowed to leave the club, especially given he is contracted until 2028, but the report states that he is in no rush to leave the club, likely fancying a crack at the Champions League after missing out for large parts of last season.

Celtic are now considering a move for £4m-rated midfielder Alvyn Sanches, who has been on the club’s wishlist this summer. Discussions had been held with Lausanne-Sport earlier in the window but after a deal for Mateusz Bogusz broke down, the club have revived their interest in the player as they look to bring two midfielders into the club to replace Matt O’Riley. The Danish Internationlist completed a £30m move to Brighton earlier in the week and the club are keen to get deals done in the aftermath of the departure.

Augsburg’s Arne Engels is likely to join too after Celtic made a £10m bid on Wednesday evening. The club’s first offer was rejected and the Scottish Champions have followed up as they chase the Belgian midfielder, who is reportedly keen to make the move to Glasgow.
