Jesse Marsch is on the brink of being announced as manager of RB Leipzig. Broadcaster Derek Rae claims that the American is being lined up as the successor to Julien Nagelsmann, who will join Bayern Munich this summer. The Salzburg boss served as Assistant to Ralf Rangnick between 2018 and 2019 and is highly regarded within the Bundesliga side’s hierarchy and his efforts with their sister club, Salzburg, haven’t gone unnoticed.

Marsch is an impressive candidate and he appeared to be interested in Celtic, speaking very highly of the interest but given his relationship with Red Bull Football, he is expected to be announced as Nagelsmann’s replacement. It is expected that he will continue his rise within the game that has taken him from the MLS now to the Bundesliga. Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is said to be an admirer of Marsch and the coach will likely know what is required of him at Leipzig, as well as having an inside track of how the club operates.

Celtic meanwhile are awaiting news on the appointment of Eddie Howe for the new managerial position at Celtic Park. The 43-year-old is the overwhelming favourite but the trail has gone cold in recent weeks as Celtic look to put this miserable season behind them.
