Celtic must rebuff any offer for Kyogo, but the lure of City might be too strong…
We can’t however even comprehend selling the Japanese striker surely?. Especially with Matt O’Riley so close to leaving the club, with the latest rumour that this could happen later today.
We have spent decent money on Adam Idah, but we need at least two decent strikers in our ranks if we are to be successful this campaign, and selling Kyogo would set us back especially so late in the window. So we must rebuff any advances from Man City or any other side for that matter.
It may however be out of the club’s hands. Kyogo is 29 and might want a crack at playing in the EPL and it doesn’t come much better than Man City, so he’ll naturally going to want to take the opportunity. Who wouldn’t?
The club might also get an offer they can’t refuse to at least triple their money on a soon to be 30 year old, so it might just happen, but let’s pray it doesn’t come to that. And if it does then Brendan had better be backed in his last minute pursuit of a replacement.
For the financial perspective Kyogo’s value as a sellable asset is only going to decline as he goes into his thirties. So cashing in makes commercial sense only if the manager can look the support in the eye and say he is happy with the replacement. We will all be watching developments very carefully indeed.

Most foreign players join Celtic as a stepping stone to epl and in man city I don’t think Celtic would refuse a dream for kyoko life changing wages if its only an enquiry its might be agent telling papers cause man city would not do it till they definitely want him doggy shoulder to I can’t see man city wanting a player that has a shoulder that pops out might be to open up asian market
Kyoto will go south if City want him.
