After the euphoria of Sunday’s Quadruple Treble success, Celtic return to league action against Ross County tomorrow night. The Bhoys have a favourable run of fixtures in the lead up to the Glasgow Derby, whilst the Rangers have a few potential banana skins. It goes without saying that nothing less than victory in all of Celtic’s next few games is acceptable if the Hoops want to have any chance of recovering the league title challenge.

Celtic were eliminated from the League Cup by Ross County on 29 November. The result sparked protests outside of the ground as it was the culmination of a number of problems surfacing at a time when the coveted ten in a row is under severe threat.

Since beating Celtic that day, County have suffered four defeats on the bounce: 4-0 v Rangers, 2-0 v Aberdeen, 2-0 v Livingston and 2-0 v Hamilton Academical. The results, in combination with early season performances, has left County four points adrift at the bottom of the league table and Stuart Kettlewell has been relieved of his duties as a result.

Former Celtic player, John Hughes, has taken over the Managerial reigns at Dingwall. Therefore, the Stags might get a bounce, but Celtic will absolutely be out for revenge in full confidence of victory. County are at a low ebb, confidence wise, and the prospect of playing the champions away from home should be soemthing that they won’t be looking forward to.

Celtic must build on the weekend’s morale boost and capitalise on County’s dreadful form.
