The Hoops went through this year’s European campaign knowing that in the new format that UEFA had decided on, they stood a far better chance of success than previous years gone by.

For the most part, the team brought back pride and restored our reputation in Europe’s top club competition, after years of ingominity. Many of them have really shone on this stage and have given themselves a great foundation to build on this year’s improvement in the Champions League and hopefully, with some additional help, carry it forward into the tournament in 2025/26.

The likes of Alistair Johnston and Auston Trusty have stepped up when needed and added that experience of big games to their CV, which will only improve them heading into the future. Moreover, players like Nicolas Kühn and Daizen Maeda have been able to showcase their respective attacking talents to a wider audience than Scotland, proving how valuable an asset they would be to any team in world football.
