Celtic will prioritise a deal for Josip Juranovic from Legia Warsaw as the club look to ramp up recruitment in the coming days. According to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, the Croatian defender is at the top of the the club’s wishlist as the club look to add quality to the squad before the end of the window.

The 25-year-old is Celtic’s first choice in the transfer market as the search for a right-back continues. Man City’s Yan Couto was one of the names suggested for a loan deal as Ange Postecoglou searched the transfer market for an alternative to Tony Ralston.  However, Celtic will now look to seal a deal with Legia Warsaw in the next few days.

The player had made 40 appearances for Warsaw after joining from Hajduk Split in 2020. In that time, the Croatian full-back has made 13 goals for his teammates and scored 3 himself, earning praise for his crossing ability and powerful running.

The ten-cap Croatian Internationalist is a high-quality option for Celtic and it appears that the team and player appear to be still keen on the deal. It would be hugely preferable to sign a permanent right-back as opposed to relying on a loan deal.
