LUXEMBOURG’S finest Progrès Niederkorn have invited Celtic to help them celebrate their centenary next season.

Progrès Niederkorn knocked Rangers out of Europe last July in the Europa League First Round of qualifiers. Having lost 1-0 at Ibrox in the home club’s first ever European match, Progress Niederkorn, the fifth best side in tiny Luxembourg at the time, overturned that set-back with a fine 2-0 win in the return match.

The Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha then climbed into a hedge and argued with Scotland’s Shame, but somehow he survived a little longer before being replaced by a youth team coach.

Progrès have proposed that Celtic come over for a training camp, use the facilities at Progrès, and then the clubs play each other in a ‘meaningful’ challenge match, and not just a friendly kick about.

The Progrès spokesman went on to say that they already have very good relations with the Celtic fans!
