BOLINGOLI sealed his fate by deciding to break the stringent COVID-19 protocols when he decided to visit Spain. The fallout from his selfish behaviour means that he won’t play for Celtic again and that Nicky Hammond has a job to do in order to find him a club. Fortunately this search appears to be over as Ligue 2 side Amiens have offered the left-back a loan deal.
As reported by Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports, the 25-year-old has received an offer from the French side in a loan-to-buy agreement.
The fee that Amiens would need to pay is a reported £2.3m if they would like to buy out with the Belgian’s deal with the Scottish Champions and it would be good business that even after this, Celtic have managed to seal a deal for Bolingoli.
His jaunt to Spain threatened politicians halting the Scottish game with Celtic’s games versus St Mirren and Aberdeen postponed as a result. Celtic are currently investigating his actions and will no doubt be subject to disciplinary proceedings; however, the club themselves could yet face a fine from the SPFL.
Neil Lennon said that it was unlikely that he was unsure if he could see a future for Bolingoli at Celtic during the week and hopefully his departure is imminent and we can all move on from this embarrassing episode.
