Matt O’Riley was the subject of a £10 million bid by English Championship side Leeds United just before the transfer window shut on Friday. Thankfully Celtic saw fit to not entertain the bid and sent the English side packing, and rightly so as £10 million for one of our most valuable assets was very disrespectful.

Especially after the display Matt put in at Ibrox yesterday afternoon. He along with Callum McGregor bossed the midfield. Matt was everywhere and ran himself into the ground as he helped the side grab a vital victory.

He of course also assisted Kyogo for his brilliant winner, and hilariously sent TikTok Todd for a hotdog in his own penalty area. That in itself was sublime. Matt has improved greatly under Brendan Rodgers and has even added a couple of goals this season already, something that has perhaps been missing form his game.

If Matt keeps improving and I’m sure he will, he will become even more critical to this Celtic team under Brendan Rodgers and that is some prospect as he’s a great talent at the moment. He will go for big money one day and a helluva lot more than the offer that Leeds United bid last week. You can’t blame them for trying.
