Celtic striker Kyogo switches agents

Celtic marksman Kyogo Furuhashi has switched agents ahead of the upcoming domestic campaign. Having been represented by MORE THAN SPORT GMBH, he will now join CAA Base’s list of clients.

CAA Base is a worldwide agency, although their head office is in London, and they have a number of high-profile players on their books, such as Cole Palmer, James Maddison and Kyle Walker. From a Celtic perspective, their most relevant client is former manager Ange Postecoglou, begging the question of whether he had some say in the Japanese striker’s switch.

When Postecoglou departed for the English capital, rumours ran rampant about which players he may be interested in making a move for. The most prominent murmur of them all was that Kyogo was one of Spurs’ top transfer targets in the 2023 summer window.

Nothing came of the interest but Kyogo’s agent switch has sparked rumours that Postecoglou may be taking another look at his old number nine.

Sadly for Spurs, Kyogo is the only striker at the club right now and Celtic are unwilling to sell. Brendan Rodgers is looking to have three strikers at the club, including Kyogo, come the end of the transfer window, but has already clarified that the striker isn’t for sale.

“He’s working so hard, making the movements, making the runs, all the things we want from him. His happiness is there for everyone to see, when he’s playing and he’s scoring goals he’s always got a smile on his face.

“That’s definitely not something I want to lose.”

Kyogo is contracted to Celtic until the summer of 2027.
