Celtic take two Irish youngsters on trial

Celtic have taken two Irish youngsters on trial as they look to earn contracts with the Scottish Champions. The Cliftonville duo of Ryan Corrigan and Shay Reid are currently at Lennoxtown attempting to earn a deal this week.

As confirmed by Cliftonville on Twitter, Corrigan and Reid will spend a week at Celtic as they try to impress the coaches into earning a deal.

Celtic appear to be making moves in ensuring that the pathway of youngsters continues despite efforts from England to take their best and brightest.

Australian defender Liam Bonetig joined after a successful trial last year and will be hoping to earn his place in the first team. The creation of a First Team Pathway Manager will help players transition from youth players to young players in the first team.

Bosun Lawal is the latest player that is likely to make an impact on the first team having spent last season on loan at Fleetwood.
