CELTIC are chasing a new left back on the back of the Bolingoli scandal. The left-back is expected to depart shortly with an offer on the table from French side Amiens, who have tabled a loan-to-buy deal. This would leave just Greg Taylor as the only natural left back at the club after Jonny Hayes left at the beginning of the summer.

Neil Lennon and Nicky Hammond will know that another left back is needed and one name that has been touted is 30-year-old, Barry Douglas. The Leeds United full back is entering the last year on his contract with the newly-promoted Premier League side. According to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Douglas is a target for the club.

Known for his dead ball delivering and impressive crosses, Douglas was part of the Wolves side that earned promotion to the Premier League before switching to Elland Road. The ex-Dundee United defender was joint highest on the assists leaderboard in the 17/18 season as Wolves won the league.

Although as The Cynic point out, Douglas has previous for injuries with quite a lengthy list of knocks and lay-offs over the last seven years.

Celtic will no doubt have other targets in mind as most of the world knows that we are in the market for a new left back. The Scottish Champions also need to add another central defender and a right winger in the next few weeks.
