Celtic target Milan Van Ewijk could be available in the summer as the right-back appears open to a move. The 20-year-old is the subject of interest from a number of sides in Europe with Celtic noted as being interested in the attacking full-back from ADO Den Haag. According to Voetball International, Van Ewijk is wanted by FC Twente and Heerenveen, as well as Schalke 04 and Celtic.
With 27 appearances this season, the energetic displays have earned interest with the Scottish Sun claiming Celtic were looking at the player in order to replace Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Abd Elhamed. The pair left the club in the winter transfer window and were replaced by loanee Jonjoe Kenny. It isn’t clear what the Everton right-back’s future will be but Celtic need to work on the assumption that they are bringing two defenders in to fill the position anyways and Van Ewijk could be one of them.
Celtic signed highly rated Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Liam Shaw on a similar deal but it would seem that there will be no deals completed until there is a new management structure in place. The club will be facilitating an overhaul of the footballing department with a new Director of Football likely to be arriving before the new manager. Fergal Harkin of Manchester City has been widely tipped to assume control of the footballing department ahead of a new appointment of manager.
