Celtic will face Rangers in the League Cup Final after the Ibrox side overcame Aberdeen in the Semi Final this afternoon. Rangers had to come from behind and needed extra time as well as a man advantage to beat the side from Pittodrie.

The game will be played on the 26th February 2023 at Hampden. The game will see a replay of the 2019 Final, where Christopher Jullien’s goal delivered the trophy back to Paradise.

Celtic beat Kilmarnock at Hampden on Saturday night, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda and Giorgos Giakoumakis. Celtic scored four times but two strikes were ruled out by VAR.

The game will now see the fixture against Hearts, scheduled on the 25th February, rearranged given the clash at Hampden.

Celtic won the first meeting with Rangers this season 4-0 before drawing in the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox 2-2. The game at Hampden will see the first piece of silverware claimed by one of the two Glasgow sides.

Michael Beale’s Rangers toiled but we’re fortunate to keep their full compliment of players on the pitch after Ryan Kent was seen to raise his hands at Liam Scales.
