Celtic told to pay £800k for Copa America breakthrough star

Celtic are reportedly keeping tabs on Copa America breakthrough star Andy Rojas.

The Costa Rican youngster broke onto the scene with the national team at the tournament as their youngster ever player. It was reported earlier on Sunday that Celtic were interested in the versatile and now, Football Scotland are claiming that the Scottish Champions will need to pay £800k to sign the player.

The Herediano starlet reportedly fancies making a move to Europe as he looks to be the latest breakthrough talent to take to Europe. The carrot of the UEFA Champions League Group Stages will appeal to the player even if he will likely be a development player in Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

Celtic are yet to make any signings this summer but the club are keen to get players out the door as the manager looks to build the squad in his image. Yuki Kobayashi, Oh and Gustaf Lagerbielke are expected to leave with Sead Hakšabanović already departing for Malmo.

The club want to make the deals for Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah permanent but there have not been any updates from the club regarding the progress of these deals. Earlier today on The Celtic Star there was an article detailing over 40 players Celtic have been linked with since the season ended and the window opened 16 days ago.  All remains quiet on the transfer front as far as Celtic signings are concerned.
