Celtic TV have released the unique angle video of all the goals against St Johnstone at McDaimid Park on Boxing Day, Sunday afternoon. The Israeli pair stepped up to the plate when it was required and have eased the tension going forward into the winter break after an uninspiring draw against St Mirren the game before.
The game was very much controlled by Celtic across the 90 minutes or so, with only the mistake by Carl Starfelt proving a stupid and costly error. All credit to Chris Kane though, who dispatched the cross well with his headed goal past the third or maybe fourth choice Vasilis Barkas.
Although, it’s the Hoops goals that are most important. Liel Abada’s first goal was a demonstration on why you should never give up as a striker, outjumping defenders and a goalkepper that dwarf the diminutive forward’s size and stature. Remarkable really, when you think of the size discrepancy. A goal worthy of the endeavour shown by the small Israeli teenager.
The young player’s second was an excellently worked team goal. Nir Bitton finding Tom Rogic on the edge of the box with a slick pass, who then slipped Abada in with a delightfully weighted ball, having just enough pace to set-up the youngster for a shot at goal which he dispatched with relative ease.
Man of the Match candidate, Nir Bitton, scored a tidy finish into the goalkeepers bottom right-hand corner, after the ball was worked from the wing into the big Israeli’s feet. The international midfielder showed his experience and calm head as he took a touch and fired past Saint’s keeper, Elliot Parish to ease the pressure after Kane’s great header.
