Celtic face Aberdeen this evening in the League Cup Semi Final. The pair are joint on points in the Premiership with Celtic ahead only on goal difference; however, both teams will be eyeing a place in the League Cup Final next month.
Jimmy Thelin’s side have been excellent since the Swede took over in the summer, holding Celtic to a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park last month. Their 2-1 win over Rangers at Pittodrie during the week will be fuel for the travelling Dons.
Team News
Celtic have no fresh injury concerns after the midweek win over Dundee. The Scottish Champions are bolstered by the return of trio Adam Idah, Nicolas Kühn and Callum McGregor. Only Odin Thiago Holm (calf) remains sidelined.
Kasper Schmeichel will start. The Dane will start behind a back four that will likely consist of Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers along with Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor. Taylor returned to the starting XI for the win over Dundee but the manager could very well continue with Alex Valle.
In midfield, expect Callum McGregor to come in alongside Reo Hatate and Arne Engels.
In attack, Kyogo will start through the middle with Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kühn out wide.
Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Taylor, Trusty, Carter-Vickers, Johnston; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Maeda, Kyogo, Kühn.
