Celtic face Falkirk in the Premier Sports League Cup Quarter Final this afternoon. After the impressive UEFA Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava, Celtic will be looking to advance into the Semi Finals of the League Cup with a win over John McGlynn’s side.
Team News
There were five different scores and five different creators during the win on Wednesday as Celtic thrashed the Slovakian Champions. It is expected that the manager will make some changes to the team this afternoon, offering some players game time to keep them ticking over.
Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals as he faces off against his former club at Paradise. It will be a special moment for Schmeichel, who impressed during his spell with the Bairns when he was 18.
In defence, expect Alex Valle and Auston Trusty to make their first starts for Celtic this afternoon. The manager will be wary of making too many changes to the backline so you’d expect Liam Scales and Alistair Johnston to continue.
In midfield, captain Callum McGregor will continue with summer signing Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan, allowing Arne Engels and Reo Hatate the chance to make an impact from the bench.
In attack, Adam Idah will start through the middle. You would expect Daizen Maeda to continue from the left with James Forrest coming in to the starting XI.
Predicted XI: Schmeichel, Valle, Scales, Trusty, Johnston; McGregor, Bernardo, McCowan; Maeda, Idah, Forrest
