Celtic v Feyenoord – Celtic Spares account reports record breaking availability

Not going tomorrow? Fine. Going tomorrow? Fine. It’s totally up to you. I’m certainly going. We’ve been through tougher times than this as a support.

The influential Celtic Spares account tweeted this earlier today: “I’ve never had so many spares come through the site for a game in the full time I started this page up. If you want a ticket..you WILL get one.”

There are literally hundreds of supporters with multiple tickets going spare tomorrow night, having of course already been purchased from the club as part of the the three match Champions League package.

And the sheer volume of folk deciding to give tomorrow night a miss for whatever reason is clearly a bit of a stir among the support on social media. There’s been a huge backlash after the defeat to Kilmarnock on Sunday and naturally questions have been raised regarding the roles of the board, the manager and the players.

Some of this has been well over the top, but some of the criticism is more reasonable. It now seems that many supporters have shunned the chance to attend the match with Feyenoord despite already forking out for their Champions League package.

That’s totally fine, it’s their choice after all, but don’t think it’s firing a warning shot to those in charge, as they won’t give a hoot as the money is already securely in the bank!

Personally speaking, I’m going to be there to support the team as the majority of those attending are. That’s what we do right? We are football supporters, we love the game and we love Celtic. And incidentally we’ve supported Celtic through thick and thin, the barren years of the 1990s for instance, when as the Four Leaf Clover song notes ‘we stood with pride and took defeat’.

No matter how dire we’ve been recently, we stand by our team. How does that other famous old song go? ‘Faithful Through and Through’ yet some seem to have forgotten that sadly.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy

  1. Thats probably irish fans that cant get over because of work and other fans because of sunday but as ur saying about the board not giving a Fck because they have got the ticket money in the bank look the board dont give a shite for us celtic fans just look back to 2012 the cheating years of oldco ranjurs.our club celtic turned a blind eye and then p.lawwell says he’s never seen the 5way agreement he was caught out..listen celtic are involved in all this carry on if that was Fergus McCann liebrox would have been a asda tesco our houses but not that rat p.lawwell he would rather stick up for that mob at hampden sfa.spfl and newco so the celtic fans should wake up and look at our club aswell especially p.lawwell he’s a dirty rat he was away 2 year the club was great he’s back and the team is shocking this is 10inarow season all over again because the newco need money the officials are helping them lawwell has weakednour team again thats twice hes done that and i say its to help newco get the CL MONEY

  2. Faithful through and through is an admirable trait, unfortunately our board exploit that every season, and they certainly don’t give a monkeys what any fan has to say.
I recall 1994 and the Kellys and Whites, though we not reached that nightmare yet, it won’t take much to stir the pot ie if Rodgers isn’t backed in January, there’ll be a tsunami of trouble for Lawwell inc waving tata to his UEFA blazer

  3. JOHN MCGHEE , Sorry to burst your bubble mate but the fact is McCann is on record as saying it was a disgrace that Rangers were relegated , he is a business man first and foremost and he sees thing from a business point of view , he would have bent over backwards to keep the OldFirm cash cow .
