Celtic v Kilmarnock – SFA confirm experienced ref for Flag Day

The SFA have confirmed that Don Robertson will referee Celtic’s William Hill Premiership opener against Kilmarnock. Brendan Rodgers’ side kick off their defence of the title in the Sunday afternoon game, which is live on Sky Sports.

Robertson has been confirmed as the referee for the match with David Roome and Craig Ferguson assisting.

Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, Greg Aitken is on VAR with Jonathan Bell assisting.

Celtic go into the game on the back of an excellent trio of games in the USA. The Champions disposed of MLS outfit DC United before comfortably putting Man City and Chelsea to the sword.

Kilmarnock have been playing during the week in Europe and will be back in qualifying duties during the week. This means that they are expected to be their usual robust selves at the back. Brendan will look to continue the fast flowing attacking football that the club have played in pre season.

The manager wants more quality in the door before the window shuts but he’ll be forced to use what’s currently at his disposal before looking for more incomings after the game with Killie.
