Celtic’s cinch Premiership match against Livingston, scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, has been postponed as has the Celtic FC Women’s match away to Dundee United on Sunday afternoon.

And it’s very likely that the postponements will run over to next weekend with Ange Postecoglou’s side’s visit to Paisley to face St Mirren almost certain to be off as will next weeekend’s SWPL visit from Hamilton to the Excelsior Stadium.

“Following meetings this morning, Scottish FA, SPFL,SWPL and Scottish Highland and Lowland Football Leagues have agreed that all professional football matches will be postponed this weekend as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” the SPFL have stated.

With an incredibly busy fixture list this season due to the World Cup happening in the winter, it’s going to be a considerable challenge finding new dates for these fixtures which could now be pushed back into 2023.

Celtic’s Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night looks like going ahead and hopefully that is indeed the case.
