Celtic face Livingston on Wednesday night as the Scottish Champions look to continue their fine run of form this season. After the 2-0 win at Tannadice on Sunday, it is back to Paradise with David Martindale’s Livi arriving from West Lothian.

There were two big calls for the match officials at Tannadice with VAR intervening both times to overturn the on-field decision from Don Robertson resulting in the non-awarding and awarding of penalties. In retrospect, both were probably the right calls but it was VAR and officials in Govan on Saturday that are generating the major talking points as all three of the contentious calls favoured Rangers.

20th November 2021; Hampden Park, Glasgow City, Scotland; Scottish League Cup semi-final, Celtic versus St Johnstone; Referee Nick Walsh yellow cards Kyogo Furuhashi of Celtic and Craig Bryson of St Johnstone

Nick Walsh is the referee. He is assisted by Alan Mulvanny and Daniel McFarlane with Stewart Luke acting as Fourth Official. Meanwhile, across the city in Clydesdale House, Colin Steven will be the Video Assistant Referee with Steven Traynor acting as AVAR.

Celtic are nine points clear at the top of the Cinch Premiership and will be hoping that they can extend this on Wednesday night as Rangers travel to Edinburgh to face Hearts at Tynecastle.

Hopefully the talking points in the aftermath of the game are to do with the quality of the Celtic team rather than the quality of officiating.
