Celtic v Ross County: Referee confirmed for Flag Day at Paradise

Celtic face Ross County this weekend in the Cinch Premiership opener at Celtic Park. The Scottish Champions kick off their defence against the Highlanders with Brendan Rodgers making his competitive return to Paradise as manager.

The SFA have confirmed the refereeing appointments for the weekend with Nick Walsh taking the whistle. The referee, who is widely regarded as the best in Scotland, will be assisted by David Roome and Chris Rae. Fourth official duties will be carried out by Colin Steven. Over at Clydesdale House, Greg Aitken is on VAR duties with Alan Mulvanny operating in the role of AVAR.

James Forrest will also have the honour of unfurling the league flag before kick-off on Saturday. Celtic are in action this evening against Atheltic Club for the testimonial of Forrest. The Scotland Internationalist has made 467 appearances for Celtic since making his breakthrough in 2010. The winger has scored an astonishing 102 goals whilst assisting on 101 occasions.
