Cameron Carter-Vickers and Nicolas Kuhn are the two players who will have a big say in the outcome of today’s game…

Cameron Carter-Vickers will most likely start today’s game against St Johnstone especially now that Liam Scales will miss out. Despite his fragile state this campaign, he is still a massive player for us. Celtic’s Big Strong Man makes our defence more solid and more importantly he makes those around him much more stronger and confident.

Today it’s likely to be a partnership of CCV and Stephen Welsh with the American international very much having the senior role to play. They say successful sides are built from the back and with CCV absent we are vulnerable at the back, so to have him back gives us all a big shot in the arm.

With the defence looking secure, it’s up top that all eyes will be on. It will be either Kyogo or Adam Idah who are tasked with getting the goals. But more importantly they will need the service and with Luis Palma and Yang missing that task will be handed to Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn.

Yang is shamefully suspended by the Scottish FA, Kenny Dalglish was correct in saying that in his day that high boot against Hearts was no more than an indirect free-kick.

Celtic’s German winger especially could have a decisive say in today’s result. His partner on the opposite flank grabbed all the headlines with a hat trick last week against Livingston, but it was the German who caught the eye with his delightful display.

He looked lively throughout and was always looking to beat his man, while laying on great service for those in the box. Hopefully Nicolas picks up where he left off last week, as we will need that sort of industry and creativity today to break down an ultra defensive St Johnstone side.
