Celtic are weighing up a move for Connor Barron from Aberdeen. The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Pittodrie outfit and is now attracting interest from the Scottish Champions.

According to Scottish Daily Express Sport, Ange Postecoglou sent his scouting team to watch Barron playing for Scotland U21s.

Barron, a product of the Aberdeen youth academy, captained the U18s and U20s for The Dons before being loaned to Brechin and Kelty Hearts. However, he returned to the fold with Jim Goodwin taking over and the Irishman will certainly plan on utilising the youngster next season.

Celtic, meanwhile, will look to replace Tom Rogic and by stocking up on fine talent. It is likely that Barron is not ready for the first team at Celtic and he would be a talent for the future.

The transfer business seems to be predominantly focused on securing Jota from Benfica and Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham. The pair were extremely impressive on loan last season as Celtic regained the title and League Cup. The manager wants both signed up before moving onto new targets.
