TOMMY SMITH seems to be heading to Stoke City after all despite Celtic having a £4million bid accepted by Huddersfield. The problem seems to have centred around personal terms and while Smith couldn’t agree these with Celtic it looks like Stoke has satisfied his financial demands and accordingly won the race to sign the right back.

The Wimbledon CSC Bhoys seem rather relieved that Smith appears to be going to Stoke rather than Celtic, judging by their response to the Mirror’s man.
On a more serious note, should Celtic not turn their attention away from the over-inflated wages that players are expecting south of the border and instead look to league on the continent for better players – Smith does not seem to be particularly highly rated by anyone, including the Huddersfield supporters who have been commenting.
Let’s look to Netherlands, Belgium, France and plenty of other European leagues and patch the English leagues. There is simply no value for money to be had shopping there.
