As we know, Celtic have been linked with numerous keepers as they search for Joe Hart’s replacement.
One name that keeps popping up and seems to have some substance about it is Newcastle United’s Slovakian keeper Martin Dubravaka.

The Slovak international is now 35 so is getting on a bit in footballing terms, but for a goalkeeper he’s still got a relatively good few years left in him.

He’s spent a few years sampling EPL football while also being an international so he ticks all the boxes in the experience department. He’s also most importantly got ability and is a decent shot stopper as he’s shown in his time down south. Another big plus is that’s he’s comfortable with the ball at his feet and is a keeper very much comfortable with keeping possession while his distribution is also decent.

ON CELTIC SHORTS…Replacing Joe Hart remains Celtic’s top priority this summer

Dubravaka would be a perfect suit for the style of football Brendan Rodgers implements on the side, so I can see why the club have him on a shortlist of potential successors to Joe Hart. Doubts will linger over his age, but Dubravaka is a quality keeper that isn’t in doubt. I for one wouldn’t be disappointed if he was unveiled as our new keeper.
