Celtic’s European opponents have decided to jet out for a warm-weather camp ahead of the Europa Conference League games in February. Bodo/Glimt are planning to go abroad despite the surge in Omicron cases across Europe.

As reported by The Daily Record, the GM of the club, Frode Thomassen, said that they would be leaving the country, if possible.

“We have to start back in pre-season three to four weeks before the match against Celtic.

“We will definitely leave the country if possible. We have a clear desire for that.”

Celtic will face Bodo/Glimt in the Round of 32 in the Europa Conference League after falling narrowly short of the next stage of the Europa League. The games will be played on the 17th and 24th of February with the first game being played at Celtic Park.

Bodø/Glimt have already lost star midfielder Patrick Berg to French side Lens and lost striker Erik Botheim as the dismantling of Bodo/Glimt’s title-winning sides continues with a number of players chased across Europe.

The decision last year for Celtic to go Dubai resulted in utter disaster for Neil Lennon’s side. This resulted in mass isolation across the squad for two games as the 10IAR drive failed. The winter training camp this year will be based at Lennoxtown after Ange Postecoglou decided against running the risk of traveling abroad for a camp.
