CELTIC’s home match against Motherwell, scheduled for Saturday 29 August has been postponed and pushed back 24 hours to accommodate the visitor’s Europa League qualifier on Thursday 27 August. The Fir Park side confirmed the date change on social media earlier today.

“Our match away to Celtic will now be played on Sunday 30 August at 3pm. This is due to our involvement in the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round,” Motherwell FC tweeted.

Celtic were scheduled to play St Mirren this evening and Aberdeen on Saturday – both in the Premiership – but these were postponed after the First Minister’s intervention yesterday following the breaking news that Boli Bolingoli had made a clandestine overnight trip to Spain last Monday, returned to Scotland and instead of fulfilling his legal obligation to go into quarantine, instead returned to training at Lennoxtown and participated in Celtic’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Sunday, replacing Greg Taylor for the last ten minutes.

So Celtic will play KR Reykjavik at Celtic Park next Tuesday 18 August in the Champions League first round qualifier (kick-off 7.45pm), then will face a difficult trip to Tannadice to play Dundee Utd on Saturday 22 August (kick-off 5.30pm) and provided that the Icelandic minnows are taken care of will play either Ferencvaros (Hungary) or Djurgardens IF (Sweden) the next midweek (either 25 or 26 August) then the Motherwell game at Celtic Park, now on SUNDAY 30 August (3pm kick-off) will round off the month for the Hoops.

Celtic have also confirmed the date change for the match against Motherwell.

COMING VERY SOON FROM THE CELTIC STAR….
