Celtic’s Premiership rivals open their doors to England ahead of friendly at Hampden

Celtic skipper Callum McGregor will face up in the middle of the park on Tuesday evening for Scotland against Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson. The midfielder put in a typically assured performance on Friday evening as Steve Clarke’s side made it five wins out of five.

Whilst the majority of the plaudits were given to John McGinn and Scott McTominay, it was McGregor that kept the tempo in the game and it will be exciting to see how he fares on Tuesday, especially in anticipation of the return to the Champions League later this month.

Scotland will come up against Gareth Southgate’s England, who have a wealth of talent at their disposal. However, Clarke’s team come into this game with an incredible record heading into the game at Hampden.

Celtic’s Premiership rivals, Rangers, decided that they would open the doors for England ahead of the game. The Ibrox side were beaten by Celtic in the last game before the international break thanks to a goal from Kyogo.

Southgate’s team will be up against it due to the atmosphere, the high-flying Scottish team and their recent draw against Ukraine. It will be interesting to see how Scotland get on, especially given the proximity they’re towards the Euros in Germany next summer.
