WE aren’t that bothered that the media may have been misrepresenting the nature of the Police report that was released yesterday. If they used this to have one dig or another at Celtic then in the scheme of things this remains insignificant compared to the lack of feedback from Police Scotland and/or Celtic regarding the lessons that have been learned and the changes that the Celtic support can expect to be put in place for the game against the Rangers at the end of this month?

This morning we carried an article titled The Janefield Crush – Police Scotland release Squirrel, Silent Celtic and the FAC video and you can read that below.

The Janefield Crush – Police Scotland release Squirrel, Silent Celtic and the FAC video

Well it didn’t take too long for Celtic to lose the ‘silent’ tag and they have this afternoon released a statement on the official site.

The statement reads as follows: “Celtic Football Club notes the release of yesterday’s report covering the policing of football in Scotland.

“Contrary to certain media reports, this study was not commissioned in response to any incident at Celtic Park and it covers a range of issues surrounding policing, safety and the licensing of football across the whole of Scotland.

“It is well-known that Celtic has commissioned its own report into the events at Celtic Park last year, an incident which the Club has treated with the utmost seriousness. The outcome of this comprehensive and thorough investigation will be released shortly.”

It’s this last paragraph that is the important one. There will be around 58,000 Celtic fans attending this game and they all have a right to expect that the circumstances that were allowed to occur on 2 September will not be allowed to be repeated.

This morning we ended our article by stating: “Hopefully we’ll hear from Celtic soon on this matter. Time is running out.”

Well, we’ve now heard from Celtic and now know that the outcome of their commissioned report which will be both comprehensive and thorough WILL BE RELEASED SHORTLY.

Well the sooner the better, please  because as we said this morning TIME IS RUNNING OUT.
