GOALKEEPERS

Marcus Bettinelli at Fulham on loan at Boro. He is 28 and a solid keeper that would improve our options and be within our means as a bosman.

Lorenzo Montipo of Benevento Calcio (Photo by Marco Luzzani/Getty Images)

Lorenzo Montipo from Benevento only 24 but has a good reputation in Serie A so may be a stretch for us. He is also a bosman.

Dominik Greif from Slovan Bratislava, younger at 23 but has good experience including Europa league groups last year likely cost £2mish.

FULL BACKS

Ryan Nyambe of Blackburn Rovers (Photo by Charlotte Tattersall/Getty Images)

Ryan Nyambe right back from Blackburn Rovers, he is 23 been playing regularly in the Championship this season. Is quick, strong and decent on the ball. Also a bosman.

Jannik Dehm of Holstein Kiel (Photo by Oliver Hardt/Getty Images)

Jannik Dehm, Holstein Kiel left back from Bundesliga 2 who has good experience and former German youth international. Again a bosman.

Sherel Floranus skips past a challenge

Mladen Devetak, Vojvodina 21 year old left back/centre back. Serbian U21 international. He looks a good all round full back capable of defending and getting up and down the left side. He shows “Tierney-esq” determination. Would cost about £1.5-2m.

Miro Muheim (Photo by Clive Rose/Getty Images)

Miro Muheim, St Gallen, 22 year old Swiss full back former Chelsea youth team player. Had two good seasons since moving to Swiss league. He is a bosman.

Anthony Jung defender of Brondby ( Photo by Vincent Kalut/Photonews/Getty Images)

Anthony Jung, Brondby, 29 year old who used to be more a left back at RB Leipzig but has been playing left side of a back 3 this season. Could be a useful addition on a bosman.

Riechedly Bazoer of Vitesse Arnhem (Photo by Dean Mouhtaropoulos/Getty Images)

Riechedly Bazoer, Vitesse, 24 year old who can play CB or DCM. Was a big talent coming through a few years back at Ajax then Wolfsburg, lost his way but has had an excellent season. A very good footballer who could replace Ajer’s ball carrying abilities although not the tallest at just over 6ft but his versatility and ability make him a top player. Would cost between £3-4m.

Colombia’s James Rodriguez (L) and Venezuela’s Wilker Angel vie for the ball during their 2022 FIFA World Cup South American qualifier. (Photo by Mauricio Dueñas / POOL / AFP) (Photo by MAURICIO DUENAS/POOL/AFP via Getty Images)

Right sided – Wilker Angel, Akhmat Grozny, 27 year old Venezuelan International CB. He is a big presence and would be a good rotation option for Julien particularly given his injuries this year. Bosman.

Hungary’s defender Akos Kecskes (Photo by ATTILA KISBENEDEK / AFP) (Photo by ATTILA KISBENEDEK/AFP via Getty Images)

Akos Kecskes, FC Lugano, 23 year old Hungarian CB, 6’3 decent pace and comfortable on the ball again could be a good rotation option for Julien. Bosman.

Leo Ostigard, Coventry on loan from Brighton, 21 Norway U21 international. Had a good season and is a bosman more someone that could be a partner for a more experienced partner.

Kenya’s defender Joseph Okumu (L) fights for the ball (Photo KHALED DESOUKI/AFP via Getty Images)

Joseph Okumu, Elfsborg, 23 year old Kenyan international who is a big presence with good potential. Probably cost £2mish. The last Kenyan we bought was decent.

Tomorrow we will look at the midfield, wingers and strikers.
