Celtic are willing to listen to loan offers for Maik Nawrocki. The Polish central defender arrived from Legia Warsaw in a deal worth £4.3m.

According to Sky Sports, Celtic are keen to offload the player in a loan deal as they look to get him regular first team football.

This is a somewhat surprising move as the defender has always been steady, if not a little injury prone, since arriving last summer. The move appears to be an insight into the manager’s plans with the club looking to bring in another central defender. The club are interested in a left sided centre back to partner Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The news comes as Celtic look to offload Gustaf Lagerbielke and Yuki Kobayashi on a permanent basis. The central duo have rarely featured since arriving at the club and the manager is clear that he wants more fringe players moved on.

The club appear to have blocked an approach from Belgium for Stephen Welsh, which appears to put him in Brendan’s reckoning as one of the four central defenders. However, the club’s stance may well change before the window closes, depending on incoming developments in the transfer market (no laughing at the back).
