Celtic signed off from Cinch Premiership duty with a determined win over Ross County. The win means that Ange’s side are 9 points clear ahead of the World Cup break. The four week lay-off will see the attentions of most turn to the Qatar World Cup; however, Celtic will be competing Down Under in the Sydney Super Cup.
Celtic will face Sydney FC on 17th November, Everton on 20th and Western Syndey Wanderers on the 23rd as the club look to put on a show for the enormous following in Australia. Although, Everton, who replaced Rangers in the Ange Homecoming Tour, travel to Oceania after a poor 3-0 defeat away to AFC Bournemouth, who are still without a manager.
Following the final whistle, the Everton players and manager Frank Lampard sought to address the away supporters that had completed the hefty journey from Merseyside to the South Coast. However, they were greeted with fury from the stands as the dejected players sought to apologise for yet another shortcoming.
Everton are now headed towards another relegation battle and the break to Australia may be a catalyst for Lampard to get his side in a good shape.
