Celtic are due to travel to Tannadice on Sunday to face Dundee United in the SPFL Premiership. Celtic play Hearts tomorrow before the scheduled midday kick-off against Tam Courts’ side on Sunday. However, the Scottish Sun are reporting that due to Storm Arwin, there are doubts about whether the game will be able to go ahead.

Due to extreme weather conditions on Friday, United reported damage to their stadium and that they would be assessing the damage and trying to restore the damaged sections of the ground. A United spokesperson confirmed on Monday that parts of the Jerry Kerr Stand were impacted by the adverse weather conditions.

“Following Friday night’s Storm Arwen, we can confirm parts of the Jerry Kerr Stand roof were damaged. As a result Dundee City Council closed the road outside.

“Assessment of damage and restoration will begin today and is expected to last a few days.”

Dundee United and the City Council will need to work together to make sure that the game is able to continue. It is a worry that some doubt has been attached to the game given Celtic’s already hectic December schedule. It is a case of sitting tight and hoping that United are able to address any issues caused by the storm.
