Exclusive behind-the-scenes footage captured by Celtic TV reveals Callum McGregor’s pre-match pep talk.
Celtic’s captain, Callum McGregor undoubtedly plays a major role in the Celtic squad. He has been leading the Hoops for the past four years and guided them to much success, including his pivotal role in last season’s record-eight treble.
Leading a squad of professional players naturally comes with more responsibilities, not only does it fall on his shoulders to consistently play at the top of his game on the pitch, but CalMac also takes it upon himself to motivate his fellow players before a match. This moment was caught by Celtic TV as the Bhoys were warming up for their opening game of the season against Ross County. CalMac was caught saying…
“Make sure we get the crowd involved in the game early. We start aggressive, get the shot, get the cross away, get the whole place buzzing. Early doors.”
Elsewhere in the clip, we see the Bhoys entering Paradise as they prepare for the opening match of the season. Furthermore, we see the raising of the ‘2022/23 Cinch League Champions’ flag in Celtic Park as flame and green and white smoke effects erupt.
