Earlier today Celtic announced their three match Champions League package and the prices although for some a bit steep, for me represents great value for money. A three game package for an adult will be £138 which is £46 a game. The three game concession package being £108 which is £36 a game and the under 13 package coming in at £96 which is £32 a game.
That might seem a bit expensive but what isn’t in this day and age? And it will be quite reasonable when you compare it to other Champions League sides.
For myself, and I’m sure many others will agree, £46 to watch the calibre of side we are playing under the lights at Paradise will be money well spent. You could spend more than that on a night out and get nothing but a sore head in the morning.
Spending under £50 to watch a game in the biggest competition while sampling the best atmosphere certainly on the continent and maybe on the planet is actually a bargain. No matter the scoreline, European nights at Paradise are second to none, and you can’t put a price on that.
Brendan Rodgers will know that Celtic’s best chance of progressing to the knock-out rounds or even settling for European football after Christmas will come from taking as many points as possible from our three home games where the Celtic support can play their part by providing that atmosphere.
For too long now continental sides have enjoyed the atmosphere and more often than not the outcome of the match at Paradise. So it’s time to do something about that and the better Celtic play and the better the result the more value for money those prices will seem.
