Celtic youngster Ben Summers could be headed for Dunfermline on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old made his breakthrough last season under Ange Postecoglou but could make a switch across to East End Park on a temporary deal in order to set him up as a first-team contender for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic in the future.
According to The Daily Record, The Pars have opened talks with Celtic over a potential deal that would see Summers swap B Team football for the extremely competitive Scottish Championship. A move that could stand him in good stead for first-team opportunities upon his return.
Summers, who made two appearances last season, is wanted by James McPake as he looks to make Dunfermline’s return to the Championship a success. Ewan Otoo has already moved to Fife permanently after a successful loan spell last season, but Summers has the potential to be a special player, and this move could pay dividends for all involved.
Elsewhere, Rocco Vata is still subject to interest from Torino as the young attacker enters the final year of his contract at Celtic. The Irish youth Internationalist joined CAA Base, the agents, which suggests he is considering his future.
